PREP: 15 Mins. BAKE: 30 Mins. + Cooling
Ingredients:
3/4 cup butter (cubed)
4 ounces unsweetened chocolate (chopped) - or 1 cube
3 eggs
2 cups of sugar
1 teaspoon orange extract
1 cup whole wheat flour (can substitute all-purpose)
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 ounces)
Confectioners' sugar (enough to sprinkle after baking)
Over Items Needed:
Greased 13-in. x 9-in. Baking Dish
Wire Rack (not necessary, but helps!)
BAKING TIME
- In a microwave, MELT the butter & chocolate.
- STIR until smooth.
- COOL slightly.
- In a large bowl, BEAT the eggs and sugar.
- STIR in the chocolate mixture.
- BEAT in the extract.
- Gradually, add flour to the chocolate mixture.
- POUR into a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking dish.
- SPRINKLE with the chocolate chips.
- BAKE at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. (Make sure you do NOT overbake!)
- COOL completely on a wire rack.
- Cut into squares.
- Just before serving, SPRINKLE brownies with confectioners' sugar.
